My Dangerous LoverboyExciting news, last week we launched phase one of the website, Facebook fan pageYouTube channel and Twitter account for the My Dangerous Loverboy campaign intended to raise awareness of the internal trafficking of vulnerable young girls in the UK into the sex trade. The centre point of the campaign is a 20 minute film called My Dangerous Loverboy. The film was directed by multi award winning director Virginia Heath and producer Grant Keir and tells the story of 14 year old  Jade (Juliet Aaltonen) who falls for handsome and exciting 26 year old Raz (Hollyoaks’ Junade Khan) only to discover that her dream ‘loverboy’ has entrapped her in a dangerous world of sex trafficking and exploitation.

While the website and other platforms are currently a work in progress, in time we aim to expand the  campaign across several platforms (Bebo, MySpace and so on) to encourage young people to get involved creatively to help raise awareness and spread information about this crime.

I’ve been to some really inspiring meetings about this project so far, and as British girl, it’s a subject close to my heart. I’m looking forward to working with Grant and Virginia on building a community across various Social Media platforms. Obviously this takes time and money. If we can prove Social Media works it’s more likely we will be able to find funding, so if you have a moment please give us a hand by becoming a fan on Facebook, following us on Twitter, rating our videos on YouTube and telling your friends about the campaign. Thank you.
